When mobility and/or balance is an issue, even going to the toilet can
become a source for infringement of personal independence and privacy,
requiring a carer’s assistance.
Total Hygiene Ltd, manufacturer and supplier of the Clos-O-Mat automatic shower toilet, has built on its ethos of providing a complete range of options to maximize people’s toileting freedom with the Aerolet Tilt and Aerolet Vertical lifts, eliminating the need for help or support.
Both units fit compactly across the WC and replicate the natural motion of standing up and sitting down, gently raising and lowering the user to position them accurately over the toilet as required whilst enabling the feet to remain in contact with the floor and maintaining the centre of gravity above the feet for balance. The Aerolet Tilt is primarily designed for people with balance issues, enabling them to simply lean against the seat and hold the integral arm supports to operate the unit, whilst the Vertical is more appropriate for those with limited or no flexion in the hips and knees. After toileting, the Lift can be raised by degrees to ease access for cleansing.
The Lift can be adjusted to individual leg length and degree of body stability, to as low as 39.5cm (15 ½”), yet can accommodate weights up to 180kg (28 stone).
“We are all individuals, with different issues and requirements,
so the Aerolet range is designed to enable personalization to each person’s
needs,” explains Mark Sadler, Total Hygiene Sales & Marketing
Manager. “The Lifts can be used with conventional WCs or with our
Clos-O-Mat Palma automatic shower toilet, they can be configured for single-
or multi-user, and include a range of toilet seat, support and control
options to ensure toileting becomes as comfortable and private as possible.”
