When mobility and/or balance is an issue, even going to the toilet can
become difficult, requiring a carer’s assistance.
A new range of toilet lifts, available exclusively through Total Hygiene Ltd, manufacturer and supplier of the Clos-O-Mat automatic shower toilet, will enable personal dignity, pride and privacy to be restored, reducing or even eliminating the need for help when toileting.
The Aerolet range encompasses 11 main units, with three control options and a further six accessories, enabling customizing of a lift to personal specification that meets as far as possible the individual’s needs. The units replicate the natural motion of standing up and sitting down, gently raising and lowering the user to position them accurately over the toilet as required whilst enabling their feet to remain in contact with the floor and maintaining the centre of gravity above the feet for balance. After toileting, the lift can be raised by degrees to ease access for cleansing.
Variations include the Standard (ST) which will fit most bathrooms and higher or hanging toilet bowls, the Small (SM) for smaller bathrooms, the Mobile (MO) which can be moved from one bathroom or WC to another making it ideal for hospitals nursing and care homes and leisure resorts, the Automatic which adjusts to differing leg lengths, and the Non Contact. All are rated to support up to 180kg (28 stone), but a bespoke bariatric version gives a maximum lift capacity of 330kg (51 stone). Whilst powered as standard by conventional 230v electrical supply, the Aerolet range can be supplied with a battery powered option where a suitable power point isn’t available.
“We are all individuals, with different issues and requirements, so the Aerolet range is designed to enable personalization to each person’s needs,” explains Robin Tuffley, Total Hygiene Marketing Manager. “The Lifts can be used with conventional WCs or with our Clos-O-Mat automatic shower toilets, they can be configured for single- or multi-user, and include a range of toilet seat, support and control options to ensure toileting becomes as comfortable and private as possible regardless of the user’s mobility and dexterity.”
The Aerolet range complements Total Hygiene’s core products, including the new Clos-O-Mat Palma Vita- the first automatic shower toilet developed specifically for the less able. Clos-O-Mat was the first automatic wc/shower toilet in the market and is now the UK’s biggest-selling such unit, being installed in locations ranging from individual’s homes to hospitals, hotels, nursing homes, shopping centres, tourist attractions and even on narrowboats. Total Hygiene provides a comprehensive sales, installation and after sales package, and offers a range of options to enable tailoring of each unit to individual requirements.
