Helping people understand how toileting apparatus can positively impact
on the lives of the less able has shifted up a gear, with a new initiative
devised by Total Hygiene Ltd.
The company, manufacturer and supplier of the top-selling Clos-o-Mat range
of automatic shower toilets and toileting accessories, is literally taking
to the road to spread the message, with a specially-built demonstration
vehicle. And the ‘hygiene machine’ is already clocking up the
miles, having completed a tour of Scotland- including the remote islands!
Robin Tuffley, Total Hygiene marketing manager, elaborates, “The
needs of the less able change with time and age. The tools available to
help improve their quality of life are also changing, as demonstrated by
developments with our own product range. Yet disability makes it difficult
at best for people to be able to easily see, experience and understand the
different solutions available and the most appropriate for their particular,
personal requirements.
We have always had a mobile demonstration unit, but that was one, standard
Clos-o-Mat that could fit into the back of an estate car. The new vehicle
is significantly bigger, enabling people to experience the whole range of
toileting solutions, and is specifically designed to provide easy access
even for wheelchairs.”
The ‘Bringing Independence to You’ vehicle is fully equipped
with a lifting ramp and purpose-designed inside to enable easy wheelchair
manoeuvrability. Inside, it incorporates working examples of the new Clos-o-Mat
Palma automatic shower toilet, the Lima Lift height adjustable automatic
shower toilet suite and an Aerolet toilet lifter which replicates the natural
motion of standing and sitting and can be fitted over a conventional WC,
plus details of the complete range of Total Hygiene’s toileting accessories
such as changing tables, height adjustable washbasins and grab rails.
Adds Robin, “We have over 25 years’ experience in dealing with
the toileting issues of the less able, so understand how needs can change
with time; as we offer a complete range of options, from simple grab rails
to ‘all singing all dancing’ automatic shower toilets, we are
best placed to help people and their carers achieve the best solution to
improve independence and dignity. And what better way than to physically
take the options to their door?”
The vehicle is available for both home and professional organisation visits;
demonstrations can be arranged by telephoning 0800 374076 or via the
website.
