JANUARY 2008 - PERSONAL CLEANSING SIMPLIFIED

Aerolet Showerlift When mobility and/or balance is an issue, even basic washing and cleanliness can become difficult, requiring a carer’s assistance.

A new lift, available exclusively through Total Hygiene Ltd, is enabling personal dignity, pride and privacy to be restored, reducing or even eliminating the need for help when showering.

The Aerolet Showerlift- for showering and cleansing- is purposely designed to meet, as far as possible, the individual’s needs. The floor-standing, tilting unit replicates the natural motion of standing up and sitting down, gently raising and lowering the user to position them accurately under the shower whilst enabling their feet to remain in contact with the floor and maintaining the centre of gravity above the feet for balance. As a result, it can be used by anyone with up to 25% of muscular strength capacity remaining, whether at an individual’s home or multi-user environments such as care homes, schools, leisure facilities and hospitals.

The Aerolet Showerlift provides support during showering. Only 54cm wide, the unit can fit into the smallest shower room and includes as standard a soft anti-slip shower seat for additional peace of mind and safety when showering.

A wall-mounted Aerolet Showerlift vertical is suited to people with limited or no leg mobility, enabling them to transfer from wheelchair to seat, and then raise up and down to a comfortable height to shower. Arms raise with the seat to ensure optimum support. If full body washing is not required, ShowerWC lifts are available that provide the raising and lowering functions over automatic shower toilets (which combine toilet, bidet and drier facilities in one) such as the Clos-o-Mat.

“We are all individuals, with different issues and requirements, so the Aerolet range is designed to enable personalization to each person’s needs,” explains Robin Tuffley, Total Hygiene Marketing Manager. “The Lifts can ‘stand-alone’ for showering, or be used with conventional automatic shower toilets, they can be configured for single- or multi-user, and include a range of toilet seat, support and control options to ensure keeping clean becomes as comfortable and private as possible regardless of the user’s mobility and dexterity.”

The Aerolet range complements Total Hygiene’s core products, including the new Clos-o-Mat Palma Vita- the first automatic shower toilet developed specifically for the less able. Clos-o-Mat was the first automatic wc/shower toilet in the market and is now the UK’s biggest-selling such unit, being installed in locations ranging from individual’s homes to hospitals, hotels, nursing homes, shopping centres, tourist attractions and even on narrowboats. Total Hygiene provides a comprehensive sales, installation and after sales package, and offers a range of options to enable tailoring of each unit to individual requirements.
