JANUARY 2009 - ENHANCED OPTIONS FOR INDEPENDENT TOILETING

New options that combine to give one of the most comprehensive ranges of aids
to increase independence and dignity in toileting will be showcased at Naidex
2009.
Total Hygiene- manufacturer and supplier of the brand-leading Clos-o-Mat automatic
bidet toilet- has applied its expertise from almost 30 years’ working with
the less able, to develop and launch the new products and concepts, which range
from accessories for the Clos-o-Mat to complete bathroom/wetroom design and
installation.
Robin Tuffley, Total Hygiene Marketing Manager “Personal hygiene access and
use is a marker of human rights and dignity. Statistics show some 10.5million-
ie one in six- people in the UK have a limiting long-term illness which impinges
on their daily life, inlcuding the ability to undertake personal hygiene unaided.
Yet it can be comparatively easy to facilitate basic hygiene, in and out of
the home, if people are aware of the options available. Installation of something
as simple as a paediatric support or height adjustable wash basin makes the
world of difference to an individual’s dignity and level of privacy and so
on their psychological wellbeing.”
As a result, Total Hygiene has developed the Complete Bathroom Collection
to demonstrate the range of core equipment available. The equipment is complimented
on stand F65 by the company’s own range of products and accessories that combine
to maximise dignity in care and meet the needs of the individual.
New accessories for the Clos-o-Mat Palma Vita bidet toilet, which combines
a WC with integral douching and drying facilities, include orthopaedic and
paediatric support systems which help ensure the user is properly positioned
and supported when using the toilet, without carer assistance.
The Clos-O-Mat Lima Lift combines all the benefits of a ‘conventional’ Clos-o-Mat
bidet toilet with additional fully automatic height adjustability. This enables
the wall-hung unit to be raised or lowered to each user’s personal requirements,
to make getting on, off and using the toilet as comfortable as possible. The
adjustability makes it suitable for use in multi-user environments such as
residential and nursing facilities, and public buildings.
The Aerolet lifter range has been extended to further aid users easing getting
on and off the toilet- whether a Clos-o-Mat or conventional WC- for those with
limited mobility. The units replicate the natural motion of standing up and
sitting down, gently raising and lowering the user to position them accurately
over the toilet as required whilst enabling their feet to remain in contact
with the floor and maintaining the centre of gravity above the feet for balance.
After toileting, the lift can be raised by degrees to ease access for cleansing.
Total Hygiene provides a comprehensive sales, installation and after sales
package, and offers a range of options to enable tailoring of each unit to
individual requirements. Full information is detailed on this website.
