FEBRUARY 2010 - TOTAL HYGIENE MAKES IT REAL
Choosing independent living aids is being made more personal with an innovative
approach from Total Hygiene, the company behind the Clos-o-Mat ‘wash and dry’
toilet.
The firm has developed a novel exhibition display, receiving its first major
outing at Naidex 2010, which aims to help people better picture the equipment
in their own home, and see how it works.
Fully functioning Clos-o-Mat Palma ‘wash and dry’ toilet, Lima Lift height
adjustable ‘wash and dry’ toilet, Aerolet toilet lift and a selection of the
company’s new range of height adjustable fixtures are displayed against a backdrop
showing a bathroom/ washroom environment. Plasma TV screens strategically positioned
around the stand area run computer generated imagery (CGI) footage of Total
Hygiene’s range of equipment in action.
Robin Tuffley, Total Hygiene marketing manager, elaborates, “We have extended
our range of independent toileting aids significantly, and want to make people
aware of the diversity of options now available to make carrying out this basic
daily function as pleasant and dignified an experience as possible. We all
know when buying anything for the home, particularly in an exhibition environment,
it can be hard to visualize how it works, and what it would actually look like
in situ- hence our development of real working examples in a ‘roomset’ display,
enhanced by the rolling video of the equipment.”
The Clos-o-Mat Palma Vita is now the UK’s top-selling toilet of its type,
with its integral douching and drying facilities eliminating the need for the
user or their carer to wipe them clean after toileting. It is also the only
unit of its kind developed specifically for disabled people, and with WRAS
approval, so the only one that can be legally connected to the UK mains water
supply. Simple body or hand pressure on the flush pad or ‘remote’ pressure
sensitive pad triggers the flushing and warm water douching process, followed
by warm air drying to comfortably but effectively cleanse after toileting.
Total Hygiene has now introduced a wall-mounted version, the Lima Vita, to
compliment the current trend in bathroom aesthetics.
The Aerolet toilet lift is available in a range of options, and replicates
natural standing and sitting motion, lowering and raising the user over the
toilet in complete safety and with optimum stability, whether in a single user
domestic or multi-user public/ commercial environment.
The additional range of height adjustable equipment, coupled with Total Hygiene’s
range of hoists, body driers and shower seats, enable comprehensive, Document
M- and Changing Places- compliant bathrooms and washrooms to be specified,
supplied and installed from one, proven reputable source.
Total Hygiene has over 30 years’ expertise in developing,
supplying and maintaining toileting aids- the only UK company to offer the
breadth of supply and support for ‘wash and dry’ toilet products. Today, some
40,000 Clos-o-Mats are in domestic, commercial and public environments in the
UK, some of which are still in regular use 30+years after being first installed.
